Instances
An instance is your top-level isolated environment in Octo. It defines the account boundary for billing, product ownership, and administration.
Instances are intentionally a top-level concept. Most day-to-day product work happens in features like workflows, tools, contacts, interactions, billing, and usage, while the instance itself stays the account-level boundary around those activities.
What the instance controls
Section titled “What the instance controls”- account-level identity and ownership,
- billing and subscription context,
- credit balance and usage visibility,
- and the top-level environment your team signs into.
When the instance matters
Section titled “When the instance matters”The instance matters most when you are:
- reviewing billing and usage,
- checking which tenant environment you are working in,
- validating that a workflow or integration belongs to the right account,
- or coordinating administrative changes that affect the whole environment.
Billing and tenant context
Section titled “Billing and tenant context”Credits and subscriptions are account-level concerns. Usage helps you connect those account-level numbers back to the workflows that are driving consumption, so you can understand cost before changing plans or capacity.
Can I switch between instances? Yes. If you have access to multiple instances, you can switch between them from the account menu.
